The world’s longest nonstop flights, 2026
The ten longest scheduled nonstop flights in autumn 2026, one Path per airline, from Singapore Airlines’ 15,340 km to New York JFK down to Qantas’s 13,800 km from Sydney to Dallas. Newark trails JFK by only a few kilometres, and both are flown by Airbus A350-900ULRs.

Sydney to London, eight decades of the Kangaroo Route
Eight decades between Australia and Britain, one Path per era with the aircraft that defined it. Qantas’s first Constellation left Sydney in December 1947 and needed six stops and nearly four days. The 707 cut the trip to 38 hours in 1959, and by 1971 the 747 needed only Singapore and Bahrain.

Four hours in January winds
Five hubs, one aircraft and the same four hours. Each Range is how far an Airbus A350 reaches along direct routes in January’s mean winds, drawn over the still-air circle it would make on a calm day. Where the winter jet stream blows, the circle stretches into an egg pointing east.

How far Finnair’s fleet reaches from Helsinki
One Range per Finnair aircraft type, drawn around Helsinki at a realistic range with a full cabin, bags and fuel reserves: about 1,200 km for the ATR 72, 3,300 km for the Embraer 190, 5,000 km for the A320 family, 8,000 km for the A330 and 12,500 km for the A350. Brochure ranges are 15–50% longer, as they assume no cargo and calm air.

Air Greenland’s fixed-wing network, 2026
No roads link Greenland’s towns, so the aircraft are the network. This Map draws Air Greenland’s year-round and summer 2026 routes, one Path per aircraft type: the single A330-800neo from Nuuk to Copenhagen, a leased Boeing 737 from Kangerlussuaq, and Dash 8-200s linking twelve Greenland airports with Reykjavík and Iqaluit.

United’s Island Hopper, Honolulu to Guam
Across the Pacific in six Legs: United Airlines’ westbound Island Hopper links Honolulu with Guam via Majuro and Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands, then Kosrae, Pohnpei and Chuuk in the Federated States of Micronesia. This Map follows the full five-stop UA154 route; other Island Hopper services skip some stops.

New York to Paris, a century of Atlantic crossings
The same ocean, flown seven ways. Each Path is one era of the New York–Paris crossing with the aircraft that defined it, so Compare turns the map into a timeline: from a day and a half alone in a single-engine Ryan to a lunch-hour Concorde and back to today’s eight-hour wide-body.

Lapland Christmas flights, December 2025
Every route flown into Rovaniemi, Kittilä, Ivalo, Kuusamo and Kemi–Tornio in December 2025, one Path per airline in a colour borrowed from its livery. Brands that fly under several operator codes, such as TUI, easyJet, Ryanair and Transavia, are merged into a single Path, and codeshare flight numbers are left out.

Finnair from Helsinki, 2026 by aircraft
Every destination Finnair flew from Helsinki between 1 January and 15 September 2026, drawn as one Path per aircraft type. Each airport sits under the largest type recorded on its route, so Oulu ends up with the A350s and Bodø with the ATRs. Routes with fewer than five flights are left out.
